Actually, I wasnt joking :P

I didnt quite got that we talk about editing software, and not just players.. and some talk about software that can or can not, might save people time with downloading, installing and checking if they eat it or not.

And downloading a software just for converting.. for a pure consument it might be too demanding, but for someone that actually works with audio files it should be acceptable.

P.S. When I get time and be in a playful mood, I will check how blender is set up audio-wise.. didnt scratch that topic so far, might be an alternative too - especially for people who have it installed already.

Oh my wrong ok.. so what about a similar list, about editing software that is able to deal with flac/ogg?

(just that I cant help here, since I am a pure consument when it comes to sounds)

Since available software that is capable of playing ogg/flac seems to be a possible problem, I made a little test with my installed ones (on WinXP):

Opera: ogg yes, flac no

VLC: both

Foobar2000: both

So far, I dont see a popularity problem :)

I'm stretching the topic a little towards the "easier to navigate" part:

- sort collections by sum of favs of the content

- sort by size

And, sort inside a collection as well, by type of content, by favs of each piece

Probably this is all much work to do, but in case some of these fruits are low-hanging, it might be worth mentioning it.

I got an idea for a lowpoly chain, the texture is a real quicky and maybe you want to exchange it. Unfortunately, the render produces an ugly error, I didnt manage to iron out. But maybe your engine deals better with it, who knows.

It is 2 quads per chain element (for doublesidedness).

Should we host the WIP stuff somewhere like bitbucket or github or so? And upload somehow "complete" (yes I know.. just lacking a better word ^^) packages every once and then to OGA?

We would need one volunteer that does the registration.. but maybe this could happen with a shared email account particular for this purpose as well.. so that nothing is lost, when the key guy disappears suddenly. I never did something with repositories myself, maybe there are more elegant ways to deal with this.
