I think it would be nice if we put some focus on expanding our current resources some (not necessarily to the exclusion of working on other projects, but yeah).  As it is, we have a number of sets which have quality assets, but not quite in the breadth or quantity really needed to make a game.  Perhaps I'm just thinking of the pixel art side of things, but that's kind of the pattern I've seen.  If the sets were more diverse and complete, they might be able to cover more developer's needs.

@Zabin:  I have all the current RPG enemies in (or close enough to) this style organized in this collection:  http://opengameart.org/content/side-on-pixel-art-rpg-enemy-sprites .  They're mostly by me, but there are a few collaborations and a few by Blarumyrran.  Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do; it's been waaaaay too long since my Dusk days.

Do you need them in pixel art or digitally painted?

Is your game going to be open source?

Thanks.

They'll eventually all end up here.  I don't know what the plan for systematically getting them up is, though.

@Zabin:  Thanks!  If you end up using some of those RPG enemy sprites (of which there are currently a nice number), I would be pretty happy.  I'm also hoping to expand it in the future, and having them actually in use would help.

Huh.  My bro played Dusk quite a bit back in the day.  I got on a bit myself.  Neat to see that something's still being done with it.

1)Thank you for not including the human tuba turtle.

2) why didn't you include the human tuba turtle?

3)Please don't, though D=

4) for those interested, a static JRPG-style 'in battle' enemy sprite of this monster can be seen in this set: http://opengameart.org/content/lpc-in-battle-rpg-sprites

I rather like to look of it so far.  It reminds me of Inner Space, which remains my favorite in the general genre.

One thing that I was noticing is that the ship doesn't appear to have a lot of inertia.  It slows down as if there are significant frictional forces acting on it.  It might be interesting to have less drag, which could make movement more fast and involved.

Our schtick here is that we support open game art (hence the name).  Open refers to licensing that allows people to use the art freely without having to ask for permission, provided that they fulfill the licence's requirements (eg: CC-By essentially states that the image can be used freely as long as credit is given as specified by the author.)

Are you open to licensing commissions under creative commons licenses?
