@surt: Thanks for suggesting me, but I have been publishing very little during the last year, and I believe this will probably go on for another couple of years of so. Other stuff - mostly university - is keeping me very busy. Thus, I don't think it would be fair and appropriate to accept money. To be fair, since you mentioned it, I have also been considering to quit my Patreon campaign for the same reasons as above.

Hello!

Your graphics are looking good! Only thing that bugs me is the second line of grass in the background, that reads like walkable while it isn't. I suggest to smooth that out. Other than that, good work!

Looking forward to a playable demo.

It was a custom palette, then I recolored using Dawnbringer's 32 color palette.

@capbros: you're welcome! That's no particular palette

I think you probably need to be a little more specific about that. In particular, it would be useful to say what genre you are looking for (2d vector, 2d painterly, 2d pixel), whether you are willing to pay for it, maybe what kind of license you would prefer and as many things you can say about it.

Especially if you're asking for a free contribution, you should be as specific as you can when making requests.

I've included an expansion with snow tiles... See the edited description for more. Enjoy!

You can use that for your project. That particular piece is licensed under CC0 license, which means you can do pretty much whatever you want with it.

In any case, all art on OGA can be legally used in any project, as long as you follow the license requirements. I suggest you to read the FAQ section about licenses (http://opengameart.org/content/faq#q-proprietary) for a brief description of what every license means, and to read the license's page on Creative Commons website (just click on the license image on artwork page to get there) for a more precise description.

@jimbolic: Hello and welcome! As p0ss said, there are no particular quality/quantity/format requirements for submissions, the matter is mostly left to the artists' common sense. Still, bart wrote some submission guidelines (that cover most type of assets, not only pixel art) worth reading.

As for getting started with game pixel art, I'd suggest you to read this tutorial and this (the latter is not much game-art-oriented, but it's quite useful in any case). If you have already done something in pixel art, you'll probably be already familiary with some of the concepts.

p.s. I think the Liberated Pixel Cup actually had 32x32 assets, which is another common tilesize (along with the above mentioned 16x16)

@keith karnage: hello and welcome around here! I looked at what you did. I suggest to use the blue-ish darkest color as a background color rather than black as it would help the transition of the tiles into empty areas and does help with the tile seams as well. In any case, keep up! I'd be happy to see something done with this assets.

As for your edits, they look useful to me, as they add all them T-joints I never have the patience to make :) It would probably have been easier to post them here so that they stayed in a single submission, though... Well, I'll add a link in the description.

I don't want to sound rude but... Have you considered doing a little research through OGA by yourself before asking others? I know search engine has some issues, but the LPC art collection link is sticked right on the front page! Oh well, http://opengameart.org/content/liberated-pixel-cup-0
