These are trees that were submitted by C. Nilsson. I just recolored them in green and brown. All credit should go to C. Nilsson for his original work.
The original pink trees are included for reference only, they were made by C. Nilsson. The zip file contains credits.
Note
Autumn trees added because of suggestion by Julius. Yellow created for variety. The blue one was just because I could!

Cool, although the brown one could have probably looked better if a mix of brown, red and yellow was used.
I'm horrible at picking colors, I reused the brown from the brown tree in the shoot em' up pack (the brown one in the plant repack). If you want to give me 5 colors to use I'll gladly do another recolor in autumn flavor (I like RGB or an image)
:p
I like the bottom left one, the bottom right one looks unnaturally neon colored.
Hah! I got the opposite reaction from someone else, that's why I posted both. Hopefully someone can make use of them. I made some matching leaves to scatter around on the ground here:

Is there a link to C. Nilsson's original tree submission? The only thing I see submitted by C. Nilsson is some hearts: http://opengameart.org/content/simple-small-pixel-hearts
Certainly there is! These trees were part of his Liberated Pixel Cup entry a couple years ago. Here's the link to the art entry page:

And here's C. Nilsson's entry:

The trees he submitted were the pink ones, I did all the recolors.
Heh, I am not really that good with colors and pixel art either (and my laptop screen seems to be displaying colors a bit different than other screens), but I the bottom yellow could probably be a bit more yellow and less whiteish, while the new brown one is too desaturated (and for consitency sake you should probably keep the old brown in the pack as other LPC trees have that color).
My suggestion would be to actually take a autuum tree picture and color-pick a few real life leaf colors from it.
A slight mix of colors (e.g. make a few leaf-puffs slightly more yellow others more brown and other more red) might look good too.
Last but not least you might have success by making the lower leaf-puffs slightly darker to give it a more natural light feel.
I always thought those trees would look better with the middle hues swapped.
I'll give that a try when I get home from work, thanks Julius!
EDIT
I'll try it this weekend after my homework is done.
I really love the green color. Good job on that one.
Thanks Tap, the green one was the first one I made. Guess I got lucky with that one.
I added another yellow, this one is the same coloring as the other but the luminance was reduced quite a bit.
I tried making another autumn tree but it still doesn't look perfect. I tried using colors from a nice autumn picture but it didn't work so well. I have a book called Color Index (books.google.com/books/about/Color_Index.html?id=Ltyzbe31K4EC&redir_esc=y) that I used to pick 7 colors and then I just tweaked the luminance, hue, and saturation until it looked closer to right. Does autumn 3 look more like an autumn tree and less light a highlighter?
Blue! That's right, it's a completely unnatural looking blue tree! How does the coloring look on that one, should I tweak it?
These are great! I love your art style.
