I'd like to bring this up because recently I've noticed that sometimes even high quality and polished art on OGA lacks one litte detail:
A list of tags.
So what are tags?
Tags are buzz- or keywords used to index (like in a book's index) and *find* (like in google) your art. Google once even made a game out of this: One image was presented to two unrelated persons over the internet and both had to guess each other's tags. Points where given for matching keywords. And of course this helps when searching for images.
these questions are a bit tricky and can be seen from many angles, so let's cut to the chase:
would donations count as commercial usage?
if one were to release an open source game on a "pay what you want" base, giving the end-users the ability to freely copy and redistribute the game, would that be ok, if OGA resources are in and individual licenses are respected?
The reason of this questions is that we want to raise money to hire a coder to do a few changes to the engine, since none of us knows how to do anything complex in that domain.
Although I think it's a good thing that people who don't want to register at OGA can leave comments anonymously, I think we need stricter rules for these. Maybe something like anonymous comments only showing up after being looked at by a trusted OGA user ...
I'm sure it's been brought up already is that id will soon release the source code to doom 3, with id tech 4 being the underlying technology. I'm not exactly sure how it ranks alongside other FOSS graphics libraries, I believe Ogre3d and Xreal are on par with idtech4. If not, then we might see it (or parts of it) become the standard for high-graphics FOSS engines.
Hi all, and especially the creative minds that came up with this site which is what the OSS gaming has always needed. Now bluntly to the business; while browsing the pixel art it would be very nice if there was an option to scale the preview images (2x per step, no AA if possible. Although I think not all browsers support that?) like they do on sites like http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php.

Its really cool to see bart's efforts in OGA and although I cannot help monetarily, just can say kudos :)
For a long time I had been thinking of writing couple of blog posts about the different source-control softwares used in layman terms specifically for non-technical people.
I do know if I succeeded or not but made an attempt in three articles, the last of which is http://wp.me/pfuZu-ri . The highlight of it is about bart's orange engine which for reasons best known to him, he has not shared much with the community.
