I have created a tower defense application I am going to name EpirisTD, I have used a lot of art from this website and am thrilled at how much it has helped me.
I seem to be a bit stuck however at this point, I myself am a full-time developer and now that I am at the point of just graphics work and balancing the game I have really become demotivated because I can spend hours just trying to think about how a menu should look.
Was just wondering and thought it might be useful for others too, to know what everyones favourite type of character is.
I'm talking mainly about what type of character you like to play as, what species if not human do you normally choose to play as Dwarf, Elf etc or something completely different that you would love to see in games and be able to play as.
What characteristics you like your character to have, funny, determined (kind of based on how you actually make the character play but the written storyline parts might show determination)
Sometime back I had downloaded a game called hale. I am/was trying to download it but have been unable to get more info. about it now, cannot find the website from where it was downloaded.
This is what is in the contributors txt and there is nothing about the project in the directories about the game (sadly)
~/games/hale$ cat CONTRIBUTORS.txt Thanks to the many artists working on the Battle for Wesnoth project, much of the art used here is derived from that project.
So sorts of software packages do you guys use to make music ? I have been looking around for some software that will supports reading from a MIDI device, and my preference of course would be something open source. So far I've been pretty disappointed with the non-commercial software I've been finding. But maybe my google-fu is just failling me.
Also, what about licensing for sound fonts? Are there free ones available? I am using SGM-V2.01.sf2 but I found no licensing information on it.
So we know all of the tropes, I'm sure... dungeons, castles, caves, ice levels, fire/lava levels...
But what kinds of settings really get you engaged in a game? Are there any you especially enjoy, like Water Temples? lol Any really good game settings that you think are horribly underutilized, or ones that have already been dragged out and are stale?
I found OGA a few months back and I've been a huge fan of the resources and community that you have all built. For the last eight months I've been designing an MMORTS and have made a good amount of progress. We have a blog that's up and I'd like to promote OGA on our blog as an Affiliate, and provide maybe a brief description of OGA and a link back to this site.
I won't be around for the next two months. This will put the weekly challenges on hold, but if anyone is interested in filling in for me then let Bart know.
My wife and I have a great opportunity to upgrade our mobile home. The newer one needs some remodeling and painting done. This means I won't have any spare time for awhile. After we get settled in our new home, I will return. :) Until then...
