No problem with Alchemy on linux here.

I agree with what Julius said, OGA shouldn't be just an additional archive for stuff. What would be useful is to take assets and make more generic packs, where the assets could be used for a wider range of purposes and would also be presented in a different way. Not "Stuff from Yo Frankie!" but "low-poly rocks pack" and then credited to being from the Yo Frankie! game.

Mentioning this, I have the Yo Frankie! DVD here and can see what sort of stuff can be taken from it.

Another one to mention is Alchemy. It's a sketching program where you try to find ideas through chaos. Very useful for quick prototyping and developing new designs. Here's one cool example.

Soooooo tempted to try this, if only I had working Blender. Hopefully the bounty will still be here by the time I get the new comp. Otherwise, good luck to anyone taking this opportunity.

Hey, congratulations on the release, it's shaping up into a real game. It's a relatively new open source game on the block, but it's already ahead of many other projects, simply due to the fact it has gameplay. In addition, things don't look or feel half stiched together. Best of all, it's a solid foundation with which other people can make their games.

I wish you the best of luck with future development.

Hey,

Just wanted to say I love the progress you're making with the game. I especially like the setting based on Wu XIng. I don't know why, but it has this certain appeal and feels non-cliche, even if the different climates are the standard desert, tundra, mountains/mine etc. It all sound as if you can pull it off to make it feel fresh. And I really like the black tortoise mythical beast idea.

Woohoo :) It's the first time I got paid for my CG work, it's such a quantum leap for me :)

Good work on the Arkana-FTS GUI as well, it's good to see quality competition around here.

Regarding the public domain sources, I will post the info once I get home. There only two images used, both from www.burningwell.org the paper texture is made from scratch in GIMP. If I get to remember the procedure it would make for a nice tutorial?

I prefer payment via paypal and will send you the address soon (it's actually my sister's so I have to ask her about the address)

@ bart: it seems I completelly misunderstood what you wanted to do with the contest. A seperate and new contest would be cool. This time with a more general theme (not limited to RPG) and you could advertise it to game projects, since they make GUIs anyway and probably wouldn't mind some extra stimulation to push up the quality and get some money for their project's needs.

Anyway, regards :)

I'd feel disapointed if the contest were re-run. I spent some time and effort in creating my entry I probably wouldn't otherwise. Hah I guess I was hoping for some easy money with so little competition, but let's wait for Pompei2's entry. I won't mind if don't get the prize due to someone submitting a better entry, but it would be rather bleh if the contest was simply canceled.
