Oh, and another thing, a precise time display for challenge finish times (eg. 24:00Z) and possibly a countdown timer.

I've always liked the idea of an ongoing sequence of small feasible targets each building on the last with the result being released at each stage rather than one whopping great one. Not sure if something like that could work within KickStarter's infrastructure/rules.
Duion: Even if you pay for full ownership of a work or if the work released under CC0 or a similar Public Domain equivalent then depending on the jurisdiction the artist may still have full moral rights (such as the right of attribution of authorship), as moral rights cannot be waived in some jurisdictions. Though I certainly do agree that keeping track of all attributions within a large project could be a logistical nightmare.

I've started some more of the same. It'd be nice to have the expiration time in greater precision than 24 hour increments.
OGA keeps all revisions so there shouldn't be any need keep multiple versions on the current revision. It'll likely only clutter and confuse.
You're right about PIL only writing 87a. You can output multiple image block images, but they aren't true animated GIF.
So, being the fool I am I started writing a GIF reader/writer from the spec, we'll see how that goes (probablly not well).
