Oh, I was thinking of composing it myself, but I might also hire someone, I've been asking around to many different musicians on this site too see what they have to offer.
Also perhaps this thread is more suitable for SOYP now? It's starting to become more of a project showcase, but I guess we are also discussing features of the game and such.
Eh, probably not, for now they just have numbers, as is the case in real life chicken farming. ^^
Sorry for my late reply, I realize that I might be getting a little lazy with this game, in the latest couple of days I've mainly been working on music and sfx so I haven't got much now to show visually.
Hmm, there seems to be a lot of composers around right now, and I want to hear all of them!
....but I have to consider the budget too...
@DisOmikron, I will keep you in mind, contact you if it proves neccessary, sadly that won't be right now, I hope you do not take this comment as a pointless waste of your time. ^^ Your chiptunes are very good but it's not really the style my game needs, unfortunately.
But I don't really know what would be a good way to implement gunpowder production, I mean to make gunpowder requires nitrate, which was historically made from animal manure. But I don't know if that should be in the game.
Yeah my enemies are probably gonna be AI players controlling another city. I will have maybe 3 different factions similar to command and conquer, but I will start with making this first one. Maybe split screen multiplayer with 2 mice will be added sometime far into the future.
You can see how all of my buildingds are red, they will be recolored to different colors for the other players. My battles will take place on the map itself in real time, the chickens will be able to produce 5 different units,
Cannoneers,
Grenadiers,
Musketeers,
Halberdiers,
and Captains.
Each of them will serve their own purpose which would take kind of a long time to explain. Basically, the cannoneers will act similar to mortars or artillery in company of heroes 1, with long range and damage but no close combat defense, and also taking a long time to move and turn around, your typical artillery unit. Maybe you will be able to load them with different kinds of shot. It takes 6 iron, 8 coal, 4 wood, and 8 gunpower to build a cannon. (I haven't implemented gunpowder production yet)
Grenadiers are mainly used to attack infantry in cover, or attack from behind cover themselves, because they can throw their grenades over objects. Making grenades requires 1 iron, 2 coal, and 4 gunpowder.
Musketeers have a long range, but low precision and a long loading time, however making muskets are cheaper than making cannons and grenades, they also have more HP. Making a musket requires 1 iron, 2 coal, 2 wood, and 1 gunpowder.
Halberdiers have the most HP and defense, but can only fight in melee and are very slow. They are the tankers or meat shield. They are also the cheapest kind of soldier, since they don't require gunpowder to build (but more iron for their armor) It takes 2 iron and 2 wood to make a halberd.
Finally captains are mainly used to train the other units. Maybe they should require gold to build?
(all the price numbers are temporary)
I have no idea if I'm going to add different levels of soldiers, or have them gain experience by fighting.

You are totally right, I want to say the same thing!
I'm using this egg for my game :)

I think I will make gunpowder production next, now that I'm talking about it.
