All good ideas, I also put up one on my blog post http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com/2010/09/17/availability-and-screen...

Look the stuff under opengameart.org . I do understand that a project like that may be sometime away :)

hey cool, its fun, its perky, I like it. I have to agree with Rexamin that it sounds as if heard before but where don't know.

IMHO it would be more appropriate perhaps when the hero wins something or perhaps going to the forest or something. Its a happy tune, not something which says danger or something like that.

Hi all,

I don't know anything about game development but for some reason saw sphere's forums. I think somebody mentioning RPG maker may have something to do it. I have seen and played the games of amaranthia (the developers behind rpg maker XP) and if somebody says that some editor is similar to RPG maker thats saying a lot.

Anyways I found two editors within the sphere forums, a 2.0 version (in-progress) http://github.com/kyuu/sphere

One can look at the relevant thread there .

The other one is http://www.spheredev.org/~radnen/SphereEditor/SphereEditor_090.zip . One can also read the relevant thread at the forum as well.

It might be a good idea perhaps if somebody reviews some of the engines , say what things are good at the sphere project compared/vis-a-vis the clint bellanger's engine.

A sort of shoot-out between two and more fledging engines where everybody benefits and game developers may have an idea which game engine would be suited to one type of game or other.  Shootouts of most software does give everybody something to chew on.

Just my 2 paise on the issue. I know its going in another direction then what bart thought, but its just a thought. If somebody does try and does something about it, blog it somewhere or the other, give the link here or pm me.

It would be interesting to read about game engines, specifically if they are into RPG stuff.

I wanted to see if somebody can check out the sounds and see if they are good for any use or not. It would be interesting to see opinions on this repo.

The OLPC people made a huge resource of sound samples which could also be looked at. http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Sound_samples

a very unaware question, what is C&C, the two things I know of are :-

1  Command and Control

2. Command and Conquer.

The first used in military, the second a strategy game.

thanks pfunked. I saw it and still feel that the video resolution should be more. Although didn't know that youtube had this resolution thing as well. Its not your fault its google's or better youtube. OF course don't know if you can upload the video in HD and then they could downsample it to different resolutions or something. That would be something no.I have subscribed to your channel on youtube and would be looking forward to more videos as and when the game progresses. Looking forward to the updates. I also do visit the site from time to time to see what updates are happening.

yup, its cool. Btw think of having a slightly high-end version of the game when you upload on the youtube. I could see the loot drops and the characters taking them but couldn't read the text very well or see what is being said. A slightly higher resolution could do better. I did go the whole gog as well putting the video on the desktop. The desktop at my end is at 1024*768 .

Again just my 2 paise.

I hope you do make a splash when D7 comes out. From the calculations it seems D7 should be out somewhere around September 19th .

You should also check out Drupal Commons if that might be something that could meet your needs.

Just my 2 paise.

nice, keep up the good work :)

I just wish though that the png files could have been visible through the browser. But I guess that's an issue for the Google Project hosting thing to work out.
