Using your brain monster in Stendhal as new brain ahouga sprite:

Thank you again Reemax!

Edit: Yep. Just posted the exact message I was trying to post on the submission.

Absolutely amazing! This makes me want to play Mega Man... or Castlevania.

Changing my comment to the following allowed me to post it.

I'm getting blocked trying to post a comment on Brain Monster. I think it has something to do with links. Any time I get blocked I have links in my post.

Edit: Removing the second link didn't help. Removing the first link, which linked to https://stendhalgame.org/creature/brain_ahouga.html, allowed me to post.

So, as I understand how the term "irrevocable" is used in the FAQs, the author can choose to relicense his/her work. However, those copies that were distributed under the CC license will retain their licensing & can be, including derivatives, redistributed.

Of course, I would generally want to respect the original author's wishes, unless I felt he/she was being unreasonable.

Edit: But, I also feel that if an author plans on relicensing a work (especially to a non-free license), it would be best for everyone not to use a CC license. At least not the less restrictive ones used here on OGA.

Here are some pages with bits & pieces of history (the wiki is kind of a mess):

Here are the tileset specifications. Again, currently not strictly followed.

As far as graphics go, there is a wiki page dedicated to specifications. However, I have found that the project does not strictly abide by it. Generally speaking, it's probably good to follow what is written there. I don't think that page has been updated or revised in a while though.

There are assets in the game, the new horses for instance, that don't follow the dimension guidelines laid out there. The old sprites were 48x64. I decided to use bluecarrot16's LPC horses. But to get them down 48x64 would have been quite a bit of work. So I settled for 64x85.

I'll look over the wiki some more. I think there is information there about backstories & lore.

Edit: Oh, I just noticed this :)...

On the wiki it states:

The shape of a creature must have a dark outline of a few pixels (this is to make it stand out from the background). 2 black pixels work.

This is not followed by many of the new sprites. The lion and tiger, for example. Because we have different artists working on it, & we're rushing to get the assets replaced, we haven't taken a lot of time to review & talk over the additions. Which honestly, I'm glad they're not being too picky about it because this needs to get done & we don't want to demotivate any potential helpers.

Edit: Also, perspectives don't always match:

Notice that the N/S facing frames of the tiger are level with the viewer, but the view of the horse is angled above.
