I agree with Sharm. I think it would completely change the nature of OGA.

And if the site did cater to this, it should have the option to filter out explicit material. That is probably a given.

I honestly don't want anything explicit on the site. I definitely wouldn't be showing the site to my young neices & nephews for the risk of running across something. No filtering system is perfect. We would be dependent on submitters marking explicit submissions as such. Else we would have to start screening submissions. And I think OGA already might have more workload than it has resources. Allowing such material will put a larger burden on the administrators.

Used in a sprite for Stendhal. Thank you.

I honestly am not that familiar with the license. I'm just a big fan of options. I should look over it. All I know is it is tailored specifically for fonts.

If the SIL font license could only be applied to font submissions on OGA, I don't think it would complicate things.

I think the "PD" is for Public Domain. The base was a model in the Public Domain?

The original is such a simple sprite. Seems like someone could splat blue paint on a canvas & the owners could claim copyright infringement. But again, anyone wanting to create a yellow 3D sphere with a wedge cutout of a mouth would obviously be questioned about Pac-Man.

Edit: It doesn't sound like a derivative to me. Fan art, maybe. Inspired, definitely. But, I'm not a lawyer. :)

@claudeb: Would be nice if we could use SIL font license. I wonder if it's compatable, just no one has considered it yet?

I don't know of any software that can convert PNG to TTF automatically. It would be much easier to do it the other way around, TTF to PNG. The only way I think it might be possible is to use a software specifically for creating fonts, like FontForge, & manually convert it. That might be a lot of work though. I've never created a font myself.
