Hello! I split the orange set apart and absorbed them into part2art.com. There *should* be metadata stored in the database that saved a link to your profile here, but I have not made it to the point of displaying that info yet. It is very beta. Thanks for good CC0 parts!

Spriter looks very cool. I GREATLY appreciate the mentions to part2art. To be honest, I don't understand the license stuff very well. I think you really only have to credit Skorpio, even if you use part2art.

I need to find that post where you mentioned Construct 2. With all the things you are creating, I'd love to see a screenshot or demo of your game. Makes me lean toward going back to work on my own space games and cleaning up part2art.

Wow! Very creative uses. The guns are cool too.

Hello Xavier,

I rarely get feedback, so swapping ideas would be wonderful. Are you using the Flash version or the iOS version?

I was working on a way to upload your own images for use in the Flash based version of part2art. I have concerns like people uploading illegal content, but was considering only enabling it for certain levels of accounts. It still needs lots of work, but if that would be helpful, I can work on that. Snap Together, basic copy/fork of projects, and UI improvements are other things people have mentioned. If you have any requests for features or an order of preference for what I've mentioned, just let me know.

At the moment, I'm working on arrall.com/bb which is a very beta idea sharing tool. I am edging closer to incorporating pieces of part2art into bb, so improving part2art first would be great.

I need to sit down and look over Construct 2 in more depth. I keep wanting to make an online, multiuser, expands as explored, space game with drones, turrets, and structures with randomized loot and some kind of crafting. I've made some of that before, but flash/php/mysql/http are generally not the way to go it seems. I've heard good things about python servers, but I know little about python.

What kind of space game are you working on? Link?

That link is some ideas I have tried to organize in the past. You may need to zoom out to see them all (mousewheel.)

I glanced at Construct 2. Seems more involved than just a stamp/clip art type app. Does it already do what I'm aiming at, and better?

I fixed some major bugs with part2art. It should no longer black out all parts on adding a new part. Also, on saving projects, there is now a 2 second wait before the project gets reloaded (since there is a small amount of lag sending all the part saves to the server.) and the refresh button is visible even if the app thinks the project has 0 parts.

From what I can see, no one has created their own pack with actual parts in it.

I need to:

test pack creation on standard user accounts

allow own pack deletion

add some mechanism for scrolling through the lists of packs and projects

I want to:

add a system to browse all user's publicly visible projects, allow tagging, searching, and 'liking' of them, and have a search/sort mechanism based on the tags and likes.

Thanks. I keep trying to improve it. After posting the original message I realized a couple of things were wrong for new users or making new packs. Hopefully those are fixed.

I'm very open to suggestions. I'd like to store a red/blue/green/alpha modifier for each part and allow people to make copies of entire packs so they could customize the default colors/sizes/positions.

There seems to be some kind of offset error when loading packs while adding parts to a project. The placement of the sprites is different than what shows up in the pack editor.

Eventually, I'd like to get back to making a game, rather than a tool. www.stellarscaping.com is the current state of that idea.

I just added this second kit to part2art.com and made some quick examples for OGA. Fixed some large, but simple bugs. It is unstable at times, but mostly working. These two kits you've made are all I plan to include for every user as defaults. I list Skoprio and the licsense on the main menu.

These are all awesome parts.

If you get a chance, take a look at part2art.com

It needs lots of work, but it is a rough example of what I wanted to create. Online symmetric clip art from any valid image URL. I used most of this kit as the first part pack that anyone can use, and listed you in the very beginning.

Anyone know if there is an easy way to adjust the hue/saturation of all the layers at once in GIMP 2.8? I like the parts, but I'd like them to be colored closer to the red parts from the first ship construction set. Also, if there is some way to Export all the layers as individual .png files that would be pretty helpful too!

I'm using the ship parts in http://www.stellarscaping.com which I'm just now piecing back together.

Another great set!

I would like to host your parts as individual files that I could access with just a url, like arrall.com/p/body1.png, and then modify my app to use urls rather than hard coded images. If all goes according to plan, each part/url would be available by searching a database that could list image url, author, author homepage url, license, etc. This version of the app would optionally have a username/password so that projects could be saved to an account. I'm hoping to have rating, tagging, best, and recent project systems. And allow users to open/copy any project and make/save their own version. As an author of parts I'm already using, does this sound acceptable?

The issues I see with this are:

1) Moderating the images, tags, etc to filter out profanity and other nasties, seems like it would be annoying.

2) I hope to allow anyone to add urls to the database, and rate/tag individual parts. For the parts (mostly yours) that I would start with, and host myself, it seems nothing would prevent people from linking to the part urls or downloading them outside of the app and the author info. Would use of the parts like that be my fault or the people leeching the hosted files?

3) Has an app like this been done, and done well, already?

I wish we could just embed author info in each image file!
