Thank you for the in-depth answer, it has helped considerably.
I don't want to be overly restrictive with my uploaded assets which is why I chose CC-BY 4.0. I don't want to be that annoying person badgering everyone when they fail to provide attribution or do so incorrectly, but at the same time I do find it irritating if someones excuse is laziness "I couldn't be bothered to check" attitude.
I'm evaluating just going CC0 to avoid the headaches.
I never noticed any ads thanks to a strongly configured adblocker. I will edit my post to remove the link. Don't want to feed the troll site now do we ;)
Just to be clear, I don't want to come across sounding ungrateful and it's not that I don't appreciate your ongoing efforts keeping order here. I'm just thinking about the amount of time you spend having to address every flagged submission.
I agree, an extra notice regarding the submission of copyrighted content near where the tick box "Is this your own work?" Maybe we could also address the issue of new users submission flooding rather than condensing.
Sometimes you just have to spell it out for folks.
Never noticed the option to toggle rich-text and that does indeed resolve it!
I thought I had done a deep search a few years ago on this, no where did I find this simple solution. Now of course it could be I didn't look hard enough or over looked it... either way thank you.
Whilst I totally understand why from a security and performance point of view, it's a shame that this also disables Waterfox's internal spellchecker. I know it's the same with most other sites but as I said I found a workaround, it's just a pain having to edit the html each time.
Sorry, I forgot to add in my last message which code it was. I was working into the early hours of the morning :P
Don't quote me but I believe it was either 502 or 503. It happened within the upload window prior to submitting but seemed to resolve itself within 2-3 seconds.

Could you be thinking of a Surge Protector?
Ah.

Would be possible to implement a cool-down timer between submissions?
