This is a low-poly Bird modeled and animated, from scratch, in Blender. Originally modeled as a small critter in a video game project that was programmed to fly over the landscape, I've decided to put it (and various other pieces) on OpenGameArt for your personal use. This bird only contains a diffuse texture, as the video game project in which it was used was a 3rd-person Android App. I used a single diffuse map to cut down on processing power.
The bird itself is available in the .Blend file that I provide below, and it is rigged to a simple but effective skeleton which contains 7 loopable keyframes of animation. The bird's head and tail bob up-and-down a bit to add more dynamism to the movement.
This page for the model also contains a download of the original UV-Map in case you would like to add your own flair to the Bird.

Hi,
the bird really nice done! How did you made in blender, that the vertices are affected by only one bone? When I try doing an animation, then also other parts of the mesh deform; How can I avoid that, without doing much weight paint?
You can create vertex groups for the bone to control, Knittel.
Thank you, pantherone, I have your bird flying around in unirpg
