First Person Dungeon Crawl Enemies Remixed
First Person Dungeon Crawl Enemies Remixed
Hello everyone,
If you haven't played Clint Bellanger's Heroine Dusk™ demo yet, you should. It's an awesome, old-school style RPG with a really nice visual style. When I first saw Clint's previews in the IRC and later played the game, I was really fascinated by the monster sprites in particular (which are available on OGA here). Clint has a really neat way with pixel clusters, and I couldn't resist playing around with the sprites some. And "some" kind of ended up with me editing all of the monsters a fair amount. These use the same 16-color palette as the originals (The famous and ingenius Dawnbringer 16) and are formatted and ready for use. Also included is an edit of the bone pile, because that's sort of an enemy as well, kind of. I also have an edited version of Clint's version of the goblin from the Free the Monsters campaign, but that will require additional credits so I'll put it up separately once I figure that all out.
It's been a while since I've been able to post anything here, due to a combination of scholastic time-eating and other commission work which I'm behind on for said scholastic reasons. That should be all sorted within a few days. I actually made these edits not too long after Clint first put the set up, but I've just now actually remembered to get in touch with Clint about putting them up.
EDIT: The goblin is now included, because the concept art by Justin Nichol has been made CC-By-SA. You can see that concept art here: http://opengameart.org/content/the-free-monsters#comment-30172

These have a really great look to 'em. Thanks for posting! :D
These are so awesome. I like Clints originals, but I think these are a bit nicer and I hope he upgrades the game with these and your Dusk sprite soon.
Awesome !!
I used those sprites in my game: https://lucas-c.itch.io/undying-dusk
