Model Version: 1.0
3D preview available @ https://sketchfab.com/show/qoG9DPOIcUZmfBRv3tWin6kAYsH
Video @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF8ej5l4rkQ
Part of the Bot Siege project @ http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?273336
What is included:
1 x SENTRY-2 base mesh (1132 vertices, 2344 Edges, 1246 faces, 2196 Tris, UV unwrapped)
1 x Diffuse map (2048 x 2048)
1 x Normal map (2048 x 2048)
1 x Bump map (2048 x 2048)
1 x Specular map (2048 x 2048)
1 x Emission map (2048 x 2048)
1 x Animation armature
Complete model is not manifold, but rather a composition of manifold "parts". Each part is manifold and all parts were combined into a single mesh named "Sentry-2".
Maps included are all large 2048 x 2048. Reason is they can be reduced but not grown, resize them to fit as needed.

Textures were otherwise hand painted.

Comments
I know the folks at Plaintextures have explicitly allowed use in the past. Can you confirm that this is the case for the textures you've used here?
Thanks!
Bart
I will work on getting them to post here. Will this be required to be done for every model using them as a resource?
Cool. Me like it. Thank for uploading this, Quandtum.
Sweet. Reminds me of the turrets from SS2.
@Quandtum: If they're willing to give you blanket clearance on all of your models, then no. Just mention it in your description if that's the case.
Bart
@ yd and surt
Thank you very much!
@ Bart
Okay, thanks Bart. I PM'd plaintextures here so hopefully they'll be along soon and I'll discuss with them how they would like to move forward. Either way I will try to figure a way to make this more smooth in the future.
Thanks for your patience.
it's fine with us to use textures from our site here...
In the future I will write my description as follows:
Texture samples sourced and approved for use from:
http://www.plaintextures.com/
http://www.goodtextures.com/
That will be sufficient?
absolutely... how is your game coming along anyway ? models look good...
Thank you! Game is coming slow and steady, having a fun line of ideas to model is a lot of fun. Many more models to go! I just recently started trying to better understand the BGE. The project may still go Torque 3D but I am hoping to just do it in the BGE still.
Here's Suzanne having her way with the SENTRY-2 (learning how to get it to track proper, thanks to kastoria @ BA):

So can everybody use the textures from plaintextures and goodtextures for FOSS models now (that would be great) or do we need a unique permission for every project?
Cute model btw.
I was very disappointed when I say, that the original model did not have that nice smiley on the front as shown in the video... :(
That's interesting to hear. There was some conversation surrounding that http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?273336-Bot-Siege&p=2335828&viewfull=1#post2335828
As it's just a layer in my file, I will make the diffuse map with the smile available and put it in the package here tonight when I get home. Then both versions will be available as an option.
This will give the bots some character, like the robots in portal. I could paint smileys over myself, my leet-paint-skills are barely enough for that, but thats not the point, since I don't want to use them now, but I downloaded it to see if the smiley is really on there.
you can use textures from plaintextures.com for your projects.
Really great piece. I love the animation
Hi! This art is fantastic, but when I can't find any of the textures or maps when I unzip it, or when I import the .blend file into blender. I'm using an older version of blender, if that helps. I also can't use any of its animations, but I'm pretty sure that's blenders fault.
-Hey HugoBoom, I just downloaded 32-bit version 2.70a and tested, everything seems fine.
Thanks! Your screenshot helped me access the texures!
