And if Terraria were to be liberated, as in having its assets freed, you'd have to cull out some of the 'fun cameos' of well-known proprietary video game characters.
That really depends on how blatant they are. If it's just a funny reference (that is, something clearly similar but also clearly not the exact character) then it might be okay. Regardless, I have too much on my plate to actually manage the open-sourcing of Terraria (on the off chance the devs would agree to it) so that would have to be handled by someone else. :)
Don't snob folks who develop for Microsoft platforms. Some of them are already developing and using open source software. For the most part they are a community spirited bunch that loves to share their work when it helps others. Usually the content is portable between platforms (which is what we are focused on here, right?)
I tend to be pretty agnostic when it comes to programming toolkits. If it does what you need it to do, then I say go for it. That being said, if XNA works on Linux, I'm not immediately aware of it.
On the other hand, and I should be clear about this too -- even if it's never ported over to Linux, there's still an immense value to open sourcing it (and XNA wouldn't prevent that, to my knowledge). I'd just expect that if it were open sourced, then a lot of people would probably jump in and work on porting it to Linux. :)
old_school, you have failed to provide any sort of proof, references, or additional information regarding your job and internship postings. For instance, in your art internship post, there was never any proof that this Nik person ever worked for you -- at the very least, he doesn't see fit to mention it on his website. Furthermore, you assembled an "art gallery" on your website that presented art from OGA in a misleading way, that would probably lead people to believe that it was created by your company.
On your programming internship post, you provided no useful information about the location, length of the contract, payment, etc. Even if, as some employers do, you're paying based on work experience, withholding the other information comes across as shady (much like pretty much everything else you've posted regarding jobs and internships). Plus, internships aren't exactly salaried positions -- people don't typically expect them to pay a whole lot, which makes it suspicious that you're not willing to talk about how much you're paying. One wonders if you're trying to slip by paying an hourly rate below minimum wage.
I try to be pretty hands-off with my forums, but this has gotten to the point now where you're making a lot of people angry. The replies to your posts may have been harshly worded, but they were valid questions and criticism, not trolls.
I'll give you one warning. If you make another post related to internships or job offers (yours or in general) you will be banned. If someone else from your company makes a post related to internships or job offers, you will both be banned.
Nice concept work. :)

Looks good. :)

Dude, you are awesome. :)
All the more reason to open source it. I'm sure it could be abstracted out and replaced with something cross-platform.
Great for use with these sounds:

Hi Ron,
The 3D art category is for 3D models, not renders. Can you post the model file?
Thanks!
Bart
Very nice, particularly since it looks like you're working with the EGA palette. :)
I've let this go on for too long.
