Seems to open fine on a GIMP 2.8.2 installation, not sure where the error is from that you're getting.

2.8...  But I think I have a couple deprecated 2.6 plugins kicking around that I was hoping would work.  I'll kill those and then resave and upload.

yeah, I want to give the player the option of playing human OR orc in my next game, so I wanted to make sure they had plenty of clothes to go with it!

I just got the spearmaiden done as well, so that ladies can use Wulax's spears.  I'll post a screenshot in the morning, once I extrapolate to all skin colors, assuming we still have electricity in the northeast.

Old School, I hate to be the one to finally spell this out, but what it comes down to is this:  you came to this forum, for open game art, looking for art for NOT free NOT games.  In the short time since then, you have inflated your credentials far past the point of credibility, especially for anyone with meager Google skills.  You've been condescendingly offering coding and business advice when it seems clear you have little relevant to say about either, and your website naively boasts (or boasted) about maintaining private MMO servers which are against those very games EULAs.

Stop giving out advice and stop pretending you're a big shot, and work on your communications skills and start honestly presenting yourself instead, and you'll probably get a lot farther.

And the female archer.  She still needs clothes.

Regular green orc is finished, red-tinted orc should follow shortly.  Here's the ping of the orc layer within the Universal Sprite Sheet.

I've renewed my own interest in this, because I'm planning a new FLARE game with LPC assets, and I'll need full swing, shoot, and cast animations for male and female orcs and humans.

I ended up not using the unclothed male orc body you created, MadMarcel, just because it's almost always going to be covered anyways.

If you just compile the engine, it'll look like nothing.  You need at least one mod ("default," comes in the guthub repository) to get the title screen.  You can't actually get into the game with just that mod though - all of the graphics are in fantasycore. and maps are in aphademo, both in Flare-game.

Because the engine is still in alpha, documentation tends to become out of date very quickly, but there is some on the flare-game wiki.  I'm working up (slowly) a guide to making an entire game from-scratch.  Otherwise, your best bet (for now) is to download flare-game, look through the mods/ files, and see what does or doesn't make sense.

I personally started (at 0.15, so late to the game, buh dum ching) modding a couple of enemies to see how it worked, and then adding some enemies, and some quests.  Feel free to ask any specific questions here as well, or in IRC.
