this takes me back to when i wrote a c++ on my own for maths, but my mate new the answer of DY/DX, he got like an A+ i got an A- just because his mum did it for him
sure his was the more profound answer (the algebra one, not my dumb ass for loop), but how the hell was i supposed to discover something by issac newton?
I had a root around and I don't find anything of such quality from this nostalgic era of dos in the public domain? Checked wiki it seems only this game.
i can't resist suggesting that cuba just got the internet and they probabally are cheap :P
Seriously though people do take objection to the "if I sell you get money" deal. I live in hope too of course, seeing that a game in theory does not require millions of sprites just more like a pertty solid and expressive "art style", the ultimate hope of the indie producer, ie that it doesn't cost the same as Street Fighter to make.
I'd suggest burrying your way through this website, hunting for grafics that meet your style, compling them etc. If you pay no money, I think you sort of have to do that.
Surely with a working prototype that looks something like it should, peoples are much more likely to be clear what you're asking for. Say some art guy sees your roughly styled sprites and sees how he can enhance that.
I sort of roughly live in hope of some mutral cooperation this way.
I think the process is often a sort of self learning process, i got a lot of very fast answers from the stackexchange type sites when I was learning, it saved me a lot of headaches.
I also want to interact/coopoerate, it's a difficult step, otherwise my skills go to waste. I guess you're gunning to be a fellow programmer though so at best I could share my framework eventually when it is more produced.
I have been working on my Unity RAD framework that is based around the pattern of One do it all script that communicates to a game manager script, the design I want to argue it so much that I am trying to figure how I hybrid open source it. I wanted to maybe chuck it on the market place but use uber liberal liscensing because frankly I want people to use it maybe.
Anyway, who knows, at least I found open game art for a bit of inspiration
woah, paint shop pro!!
actually though there is art stuff burried in this, like rotation animation, perhaps a good find!

yeah do this at your own risk
omg i can't click any more downloads, these may be good but in sorting through all the art i just need to downoad zips
thanks for the submission all the same
thanks for this, seriously getting this sort of grafics correct by pixel pushing drives you insane and this texture looks lovely.
taking note of this one on my favorites :)
hey thanks for your work here,
actually a game I still mean to play lol.

it may be simple but it looks lovely, thanks so much
artists and their pallettes!!! lol
but yeah looks striking, and i have to admit the palletes often add a striking atomosphere, thanks for the share
i am pretty sure apple owns this
