I did some translation for DNT over launchpad. It is convenient but it requires manual updating of files on the admin side I believe.

This is what I found in the repo:

I just found http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Talk:Owl . Is that owl not ready? Perhaps Keyboarder would like to finish the task, if they received some feedback on their sprite?

Thanks, this is probably going to be useful for DNT!

1. I have to compliment you on your work, nubux. They are all very intriguing, except h01, which I can't recognize yet. f04 might use stronger/blacker lines. I'm also glad you made so many portratis that look feminine, as I am in favor of avoiding gender stereotyping.

2. Here is a zip of the layers I used to color Sarah. http://ompldr.org/vZWtocg . I have never digitally colored portraits before and I never added shadows to paintings but if my work is OK and you, nubux, would prefer not to do coloring, I will gladly do more color work.

3. I will write more character profiles when ideas come to mind! Actually here's a simple one...

Anja was a game designer, who at the start of her career went through male-to-female SRS, which became a central theme in her work.

Now that there is not much time for game consumption for most of the population, she uses her attention to detail to tweak, repair and enhance weapons.

She was license-agnostic as a game designer and she is license-agnostic now.

Note: This character is inspired by Anna Anthropy.

Also, here is a link to a post-apocalyptic game plot document, which I wrote down and participated creating in. It features two character profiles (search for "character" heading), which are quite extreme and over-the-top but might serve as inspiration nonetheless.

4. To me, magda looks like an adventurous girl, who doesn't let a little radiation shake her down from digging through junk to find spare parts for that bike (inspiration: Maureen of Full Throttle) she's been trying to repair (and worry about getting fuel for it later).

5. I agree that the eye patch should be dark grey. See attachement.

Great. :) The next question is: how do I find something to translate? I tired

$ grep 'str ""' */*/*de.po

from inside mods/, which only shows one line per file, which is the syntax example I believe. This means that there are no needed translations for German or that I'm not searching right.

If there are actually no empty German translations, is there a way for me to see what strings have been changed recently, so I know which ones to double-check?

(I can translate to German or fix German translations.)

What's the best way to translate for you? Uploading a modified .po file here? Forking on github, committing there and asking you to pull? (I have never done pull requests before but am willing to learn.)

Hi, I merged your submissions manually. When uploading placeholder art, please upload sets, rather than single submissions, especially when the preview can show all of the items at 100% resolution (our previews are 100x100px) :)

You license your submission to LPC under a free license, which grants rights over your submission to others.

You keep ownership over your work.

Are you asking about submitting art or game software?

There is a special need in non-commercial games for this but not in commercial ones?

I see no problem with the age-look. Especially since stress can do that for you too.

The attachements are not visible. Also: I recommend PNG over BMP.

I prefer colored portraits, they are easier to read than B&W ones and DNT has quite small portraits (hard to read) already.

I tried coloring in gimp:

Should I write more character profiles? Here is one that just came to mind:

Magda was one of the rare friendly kind of lunchroom staff before the bomb. She more or less was able to keep her job after she found the key to the supply room and is now serving food to survivors who are willing to trade for it.

Considering the circumstances, she is in great shape. She lost 80 pounds (36 kg) after the disaster. Actually, she also lost an eye, parts of her ear and many of her teeth but nonetheless she kept her friendly smile and a “now it definitely can’t get any worse” optimistic attitude
