Ghosts are really cool. =)
Reminds me of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
Really great stock! i'll stude it and try to make more icons.
Cool stuff.
Thank you all! Might make some updates of these later on. And sorry for the late replies, I barely log in here unless I'm going to upload / update artwork.
very cool
The cockatrice resembles the one from the RPG Maker XP RTP a lot. Just made into pixelart
assuming you're talking about ./Graphics/Battlers/071-Bird01.png, I'd say it looks like it's more inspiration that derivation; the proportions are similar but not qutie the same. The poses are a bit close, too, but not what I would call a match.
Good eye, Kir. Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm using this wonderful pack of monsters in my dungeon crawler!!
You can check game updates in Patreon, i have a Youtube video as well, properly attributed.
@vlzvl
I did watch your youtube video of Darkness Below. It looks nice and is very clean in style!
But do you really think it can make money?
@kir, thanx for kind words.
Honestly, i don't know, i hope so. This is still a work in progress.
@vlzvl I understand, and I'm always skeptical about that sort of stuff, so I might not be the best person to judge.
@Kir, no problem at all :) I am also not the best person to judge my own game, really. This is a work of heart. I could choose a bazillion of other, hotter topics today to base my game on and except perhaps bigger attention. But for this game, i expect attention from a minority, a closed circle, so i understand your question. But did not understand "sceptical about that sort of stuff". Do you mean First person dungeon crawlers?
@vlzvl I'm skeptical about whether every indie game can make money. That's what I meant ^^ but don't listen to me :P
It's all very cool.
Heya. I just wanted to say thank you. I used your dragon and snake on the covers of my self-published novels. The series is called Eight-Bit Bastards - think of it as if Ready Player One ran on an NES. Anyway, The dragon has sorta become my official mascot. I credited you on the copyright pages of both books.
If you wanna check out book one on amazon, you can find it at mybook.to/eightbitbastards
Anyway, thanks again. I have the circular logo on a coffee mug as well :D
A couple more pics. Thanks again!
Update: A fan of the books went and got an Eight Bit Bastards tattoo :)
That fan's body is now under the terms of the GPL. :P
-Thanks for that info Medi
Would those be displayable on an NES? It doesn't look like they were designed to the limitation of maximum 4 palette colours in an 8x8 pixel block, which is present in most NES art.
It is possible to design stuff which has as many colours as shown here while staying within that limitation, but it requires incredibly careful and clever layout. So I can't tell for sure without looking very closely.
