I'm not sure if the GPL allows for that based on what I read, but feel free to do some more research on the subject, and good luck. Once you've made some progress on it I'd love to see it.

Ah, ok. When I say "PC" I just mean regular computers in general regardless of operating system, as opposed to consoles, handhelds, or Mobile phones. So I did mean both PC and Mac. PC is sometimes used to refer to non-Mac computers but its easier just saying PC for me.

You can sell your game fine if you want. You'd still need to provide the source up online for free, but that said, you'd have it pre-compiled and everything. I'm not sure how Flare works, but I presume you'd need to compile it. A better option may be to provide the game itself for free but add something else that is worth buying.

If this was going to be available for more than just Computers there may have been a good way to market it while still making it free and open source, not that I know if Flare games can be made for consoles/Mobile devices.

I think if you required a subscription to play the game, even if the source code was available for free, that might allow you to still have it as a paid game but have the source code freely available at the same time. I'm really not sure of the best course of action here, I'm just throwing out ideas.

That's an interesting question I've been looking for, too. I'm not quite sure how that works. I myself would be all for redistributing any extensions I made in a GPL license, but the final game itself I'd find questionable. I think it really does apply to the whole game, too, though.

I'm not a Flare developer, but I looked it up briefly and it looks cool. That said, though, in my case I plan to do all my games in HTML5 and MAYBE Unity further down the road. With HTML5, the code is naturally open source, anyway, though that doesn't mean you have to license it as a free application.

GPL is much stricter on that. Anything you make that uses GPL, period, must also be licensed and redistributed as GPL. I would presume that this would include the final game as well, unfortunately. Granted, you can still sell the game if you want to.

What kinds of platforms are you trying to distribute it on, or is it just PC?

I think it looks fine. Simplistic, but still nice looking. Great job!

Wow, nice... these... are actually pretty good. Maybe I'll look at incorporating them into the Universal LPC Character Spritesheet once I get the opportunity to do so.

Unfortunately, the sprites themselves wouldn't work for any of my projects, but I might be able to use the tails at least and I'm sure a lot of other people can find use for them.

Oh, sweet, a new Youtube channel for OpenGameArt? DEFINITELY following! Looking forward to seeing new videos in the future. I'll take a look at these when I can.

There's still a lot in those sprites that need to be fixed up. I'll eventually get to them as I'll be wanting to enhance these things myself but its possible others will get to them first.

Nice, these updates look pretty good. I'll definitely take a look at it when it releases, thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, what happens at the edge of a world? Does it just get blocked off by oceans on all sides?

This is really getting me inspired to want to make more progress on my own project. There's a lot of things I wanted to include, many of which you've already included, although those are basically stretch goals; I'm just going for the basics first then I'll attempt to incorporate other elements.

Nice, thanks for all these updates!

The headers do look a lot better now, that's a good improvement.

Yeah, I've got tons planned. I've got a lot of characters I'm going to be creating, many of whom cannot be created using the existing hairstyles. I was also going to create another curly hairstyle based on my own hair, too (this was what I was trying to do with Jewfro at first but it didn't turn out right; I finished it because I liked it, but not for me):

http://sta.sh/01pza7cfjzn7 (EDIT NOTE: I deleted my deviantART a while back so any dA links are now dead.)

(Does this link work? I think it should; I believe Sta.sh is publicly viewable but the links aren't provided publicly.)

I've got a short list of characters here (haven't added everyone yet): https://charahub.com/user/jaidynreiman (EDIT NOTE: Charahub went offline a while back.)

Of the ones listed here, I think I've got all the hairstyles covered. Kasuto can use existing hairstyles easy enough, and Lijuona (I only have a Gaia Online artwork for her atm) will use Pixie.

Katryhn... its possible I may need to create an updated one of her, but only very slight changes are needed. Dalton I think will be fine with the "long" hairstyle and of course Relm's hairstyle I just created.

I'll also be designing this hairstyle: https://charahub.com/character/175093/Zephyr-Daividh

And this one: https://charahub.com/character/187486/Xhia-Lorehl (currently there's no zoomed out version of her yet, but it does exist)

These two characters are my wife's but they're from the same universe as my characters (she's got several universes, I've only got one :P).

These are just ones I plan to do in the near-near future. Again, I won't post them as full art until I can auto-generate the positions. I'm also not going to do any new hairstyles until I get a very basic game engine up and running, and I think I've almost got it.

And when I say "very basic" game engine, I basically just mean connecting Tiled (http://www.mapeditor.org/) to RPG-JS (http://rpgjs.com/). I can't do it without editing the core files, but I'll do a pull request and see if they accept my update once its finished.

Simiar and related to the issues surt point out, but I just noticed this:

Why are the headers on posts like this sitting directly on the left side of the page? It just looks off, I think there's plenty of room and they could be given some more spacing on the left side.

I also think that the user name's, joined, post dates and avatars need more space from the left side of the page as well.
