Yes there is. OGA has editors that assure that the stuff submitted is legit. That being so an editor need to be online to approve items and some times we are busy.
I have not read all the plot suggestions but the "we won Great war against the evil army, but now they are back" is cliche as it comes.
I think that this sounds better.
The world has been is a time of great learning, deep knowledge, and plenty for countless ages. The having all they could want or need all but a few have come to living the most beautiful Mega-Cities to enjoy their lives. Magic and Science or is it Science and Magic? It doesn't matter it's all the same to the living Mass of the people who can't tell them apart. But the age is shifting once more will the dominance of man over the world continue? All the while these long ages other forces in the world have been growing. Will anyone bare the burden needed for man to continue remain on top?
I want to upload a whole collection of mine but I do not want to spend a week uploading each piece individually. On the other hand I also don't want to bundle it all together so no one will ever see the contents and making it so the never get used.
Solution - Collection uploading.
When creating a new entry I select a "I'm Uploading a collection"
Collection Name ________
Normal License Options
[x] Use Sub-folders names as additional tags for items in that folder
Archive to upload (zip, tar.gz, etc) ________...
So what happens is the server receives the archive, decompresses it, and creates individual entries for each file in the archive, naming them according to the filename, adding them to the collection, and tagging them as need.
@Soverell Well what we do here is we create art, music, and other things that a licenced so anyone or any project can use them. As long as you respect the authors license you won't have any issue with copyright. Some of our members do commisions as well.
I think this project is at the point where having revision control is going to help it by allowing a easier merging and collabaration.
Some place like http://gitorious.org or http://gitorious.org will work fine. Then do periodic releases here and elsewhere.

Honestly, I have never had any issues with alchemy on Linux or Windows. But i would definately file a bug report.
Let us not forget Krita which is my current favorite and the way I understand it soon to support the Mypaint brushes.
Krita is a KDE program for sketching and painting, offering an end–to–end solution for creating digital painting files from scratch by masters.
Fields of painting that Krita explicitly supports are concept art, creation of comics and textures for rendering.
Modelled on existing real-world painting materials and workflows, Krita supports creative working by getting out of the way and with snappy response.

Another thing to look at is vector drawing programs like inkscape with which you can produce 2d art with but is a but more techinically oriented.
http://inkscape.deviantart.com has some really good examples of what it can do.
