I think you can get bonus points for using 'OpenSource' Works and 'Creative Commons' Works, Using assets from OGA would count towards bonus points. :)

OGA really doesn't like copy and pasting stuff does it.
Wait...who's hosting the jam? Withthelove or XomAdept? Winter jam, fall jam? I was under the impresion that withthelove was holding an art challenge then the fall jam like last year, I see Xom Adept has put together the art challenge so are you now running the fall jam? as a winter jam? I'm a little confused. I'm worried here guys that there are going to be 2 jams running at the same time, unless you have spoken to each other privately and made arrangements. :)
Im sure you can still find his assets elsewhere if you know where to look if you still want to use his/her assets. Maybe they have a blog. ;) Id be careful though if your planning a commercial release using them.
Any profiles you click on, or links to previous assets that are 'Access Denied, means that user has been disabled or banned for breach of rules, or asset has infringed copyright in someway.
If this is the case, (i would wait for admin to respond to confirm) i would stop using assets from authors whos profiles have been disabled, until the issue has been resolved.
Yes i know that buddy, what i'm saying is 'would participants' download' and Install the mentioned games just to rate a mod or many mods? (free or not) or many of the other mentioned games to play a mod? Thats what i'm highlighting, If ranking is not an issue for them then no problem, but if they would be hopeful of a ranking then they may be at a disadvantage is all im saying. :)
But i welcome mods as a submission to the game jams. :)
Just thinking, are you talking about the OGA summer jams or you thinking a completely other jam.?
@Withthelove, defo interested in the challenge and jam, so i'm in this time. :)
I like the both those challenge titles.
@Basto Wouldn't a mod jam assume that someone would have to own a copy of the title your creating the mod for?, I think someone made a mod in the Summer 2017 jam i think. What resulted was participants looking to rate had to download software or use a third party software and agree/sign terms and conditions which lead to putting some off playing it.
I'm not against a mod jam, or mods in general, just choosing to create a mod for a game jam entry could have less popularity then a standalone game. (in my opinion) But of coarse that is entirely up to the creator. However, that said, I'm sure the communitys of those games you mentioned would benefit from thoses mods, and OGA from the assets if they get released here. :)
@Xom Adept I read through some of the ideas in the thread, some cool ideas, i especially like the one suggested by Surt. For me though i didn't have any ides so i didn't contribute. Sorry. :(
Well, Most Artists will have there own style, but some are skilled enough to continue a particluar aesthetic (not me). It may help to keep a consistant style by having some criteria set, such as 'specific color palette', base sizes of sprites or whatever else you may think will define the art style your looking for.
The LPC assets have a criteria which helps everyone keep within a certain limitation when creating for the LPC, which helps keep the style consistant.
@Looneybits, Thanks, and i don't believe the 'Banner' design eclipsed the jam at all. :) it contirbuted to the jam in a very succesful way, not just making the jam graphics great. The community got involved creating there own versions which then went into making splash screens for there games, so it generated a great buzz towards the jam and encouraged the community to get involved in the jam in some way. which is great. :)
OpenGameArt is mentioned in the 'Calinou awesoem Gamedev' link under 'Assorted Assets'
