Need a game artist for my game!

Forums:

Hello,

I am an indie game developer. I want to make a game but my main problem is that the art is awful, i tried making them myself. I need you to help me with my game. The game will be top down 2d. The style would be vector, or like clash of clans style. The payment will be by revenue share. We will publish it on PC. I will tell you the game idea when we agree on something. If you are interested and agree on my conditions then please reply.

Regards,

Fathy Basha

First Tileset. Need Feedback please.

Forums:

Hi guys, This site has been very helpful so far. So I thought I would come back to get some constructive criticism. I am use to working in Inkscape, But despite trying really hard I just couldnt get tilesets to come together as well as I hoped. So I decided to go with photoshop. I quickly realized after a hour or so that 64x64 tiles were not going to give me the detail I was use to in Vector. I should have bade the tiles a Little larger, But I was to long into the project to stop. So I ended up with this creation and was curois about a few things.

Rectangular Tile Set?

Forums:

I'm just wondering... Both the image editor (Gimp) and the engine (UE4) support rectangular tiles...

But, is it authentic? Could any older hardware use non-square tiles? I'm shooting for a GBA style game, but I wanted to know if there were any games that did this?

In terms of specifications, I want to use 16x32 tiles (32 wide)... This is because I'm using a perspective that's a cross between top down and sidescroll. The game will play primarily like a top-down, however.

Thanks!

Artist needed.

Forums:

Hello. I am a programmer in need of a pixel game artist. I have no budget so I won't be able to pay anybody. But, if you're an artist needing to get art out there I will give you full credit and a link back to your OGA profile/webpage. I will also give you a full edition of the game for free. Thank you. : D

P.S: Just so I know you really are a pixel artist could you please post an example of your art as well.

2D artist needed for match-3 puzzle game (Germany)

Forums:

Hello indie artists!

We are a small project team (currently one artist, a sound/music designer, and a programmer) developing a match-3 puzzle game for Android only.
And we want you!
We are looking for creative 2D artists for UI, game elements, backgrounds, and animations. And of course for playtesting!

The game will be a classical match-3 game (matching diamonds of the same type into columns or lines to receive points and get into highscore). We have already been doing a lot and need you for the final push towards publishing the game in the Android market.

Need help / critiques with my 2D character Art

Forums:

Hey opengameart community :D

i was trying to draw a futuristic police character for platformer games. Now i finished it up to 60% i would say. But i encountered several design problems.

And it would be nice if the community could help me out and give me some feedback. Im too afraid of going to the wrong direction and the character looks bad at the end when its finished....

First: what color is the best? Keep in mind that this should be a Police Officer. ( i thought of blue, white, black, silver and white)

I have a new set of images. They are not supposed to be on a single context. Anyway, this time I tried to make them simpler, maybe add some sunlight as well. The shield turned out to be kindof armor-like but meh.

The truth is that I have not found out a "good" way to practise ( I don't know how to practise? )

Omitting the palette

Forums:

Hi,

I'm new to pixel art. I'm making an RPG for the pc and I was wondering, since the size of the game is not an issue, are there any other reasons to omit the colors of the palette? This is a sample image of a character I've made (using the most basic freeware, piskel). Please feel free to give me some feedback/tips. (Note that the original colors used can be seen in the second, png image. The outer contoures haven't been anti-aliased, as the image is going to be placed over several different backgrounds).

Thanks in advance.
