Did a quick search through the forums & didn't find anything related to this.
I want to request "Toggle All" options for "Art Type" & "License(s)" in the search pane. These would cause all options to be either selected or de-selected at once.
Reasoning: For me, using my mobile device, it can be a slight pain to go through the checklist on my small touchscreen. But, I would think that desktop users would like it as well.
Within the last year, the Markdown language has become increasingly appealing to me. I love its simplicity & how easy it is to edit. I don't know how popular it would be among the OGA community, but I personally would find it a great improvement to be able to write my submission descriptions in Markdown. The current rich text format is decent, but I find myself quite often switching to raw HTML to create/edit my submissions. I think Markdown would make a good addition, at least as an alternative to rich text & HTML editing.
I recently submitted a script, & it made me want to request a couple things:
1) Collapsible drop-down sections: This could be used to hide text/contents from view until a user clicks/selects it. In my script submission, I wanted to display the text contents in the description. But it is relatively long & makes the description feel cluttered. It would be nice to be able to initially hide it from view.
When the name of a collection expands past the width of the sidebar, it encroaches on the submission's description, making it hard to read some text. Attached is a screenshot demonstrating the issue.
Two solutions I can think of:
Wrap text (force wrap if name doesn't contain whitespace)
I just want to say thank you to the community here at OpenGameArt.org. Thank you to the creators, to the maintainers & helpers, & to all contributors. You all have made this one of the best sites around in my opinion. You have created a home that brings artists & developers together & promotes freedom & education. Without free & open source software, artwork, & other assets, I probably would have never learned as much as I have. Most of the education that I have received, I got right here on the internet.
Wanted to give a rundown of what I've been working on for OGA... Other than the continual removal of spam, watching for licensing issues, and trying to be generally helpful, that is. I'll never be done with that. :)
I think this issue has more to do with my browser than the site itself, but want to report it just in case.
When inputting text into a Rich-Text input field, the arrow keys on my mobile device's software keyboard do not do anything. If I disable Rich-Text they work just fine. This has only ever occurred on OpenGameArt.org. I have never had this issue on any other site. Though, I don't know of any other sites I've used that had Rich-Text input fields.
