I think it's very useful for community growth and collaboartion to have project forums on a site that has a general open development picture. Switching between communities (and discovering new ones) is made easier this way.
If an artist would like to get work for flare and earn money, they could suggest to pfunked that they create a campagin "Fund the creation of 5 tilesets for FLARE!" or something like that and figure out what a reasonable price is.
If you would like to start throwing art and levels together, you could download http://www.yofrankie.org/ and replace levels and characters (see kid model linked above) and see how the yo frankie mechanics work out for you. As a proof of concept this might be enough to get python coders and artists on board.
I would love if you made neutral and bright versions of this... it could be for the same locations in different stages/plot lines.. or just good/bad temples and so on.
