Haha, yes, I ran across the same issue when i first joined OGA and caused a lot of commotion.  As far as it goes, I'd say that if you'd like to be safe, either only use CC-by-3.0 or assume they want you to release your source code.

However, you can do what I did and ask the artists on a person-by-person basis if they'd either release their artwork to you under CC-BY-3.0, or waive the SA clause pertaining to code.  Although I'm not sure how legal it is to only waive one part of an SA clause.. only the artist can try to go after you.. and if they are ok with it, you're pretty safe.  Also, if you had them telling you that it was ok in writing.. it'd most likely hold up in court, though I'm not a lawyer..

Any chance they can get licensed under CC-by-3.0 between you two?  (I know the castle door is sadly by Daniel though so he'd have to agree as well to make that portion CC-by-3.0).

Eh, I don't know if you will find anyone to make one for you without more details..

I recently saw this jungle platformer in progress:

It has a character in there you can possibly use though I don't think he has all the frames done yet. Possibly if you contact the main artist he can perhaps create a character closer to what you need..

[EDIT]-BTW, this is an active and new project.. it hasn't been sitting around for a few months without anyone touching it.  I think some of these exact animations were added on July 9th.. and the most recent change was on July 13th.  I'm just saying this so that you aren't discouraged that it is incomplete or that they don't currently have exactly what you need.  Hopefully if you are nice they can add your character to the "to make" list.  You can contact one of the main artists on this forum topic:

@cemkalyoncu - Ah yes, I had that in my mind when I was writing it, but I never explicitly said it.  Thanks for the catch, :D!

@Cemkalyoncu- How's CC-BY-SA more restrictive...  I stated licensing derivatives under the same license?

Here are a couple of links to collections of LPC/RPG tiles.  There are more on this website if you look (just search LPC in the searchbar).  Just remember to abide by the licensing.  If you aren't going to sell the game, the most you'll have to do is attribute the artists as they specify and perhaps relicense the derivatives under the same license... I don't think we have more restrictive licensing requirements for free games than that.

Have fun!  (There are a ton more assets than what you are using for LPC.. probably about 6-10x as much)
