Cotteux,

Cool idea!  So are you trying to make an html5 version of "Tiled"?  So people can use it in their browser?

If this works well with tablets (or more importantly, phones), I could see people using this for their free time, though things that work well on laptop browsers don't always on phones.

My two cents:

You don't know what you don't know... before deciding to make a mobile game, decide if thats really where you want to spend your "hobby time" for the next year to two years... it isn't for the light hearted.

Let me give you a breakdown of a game:  menu screens, a database (especially for RPGs), a game engine, graphic art, and level creation.  Which is all way harder than you think.

IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT MAKING A GAME: Do a simple game.. as in.. the realm of flappy bird.  I could probably make a decent version of flappy bird in less than 2 days.  DO NOT: attempt to make an RPG from scratch.. you will fail.. or wish you would have earlier..  (If you are set on making an RPG, use RPG maker.) Even platformer games are difficult, but way easier than RPGs)

Suggestions:

Game Maker

Game Salad

Stencyl

Corona SDK (programming) - (What I use)

Unity 2D (some programming, but great software if you ever decide you want to make a 3D game after)

Good Luck!

Thank you, sorry I hadn't taken a look at this until now, long day at work.  I honestly didn't expect anyone to respond, especially this fast!

@Macro-

Thanks for the leads, I enjoyed listening to your tracks! While playing the music in the background with my menu screens they didn't feel quite right.  Hard for you to tell without the visuals I know, which would be my fault, haha.  None the less, thank you for spending your time showing me them.

@syncopika-

Thank you for creating something new!  I'm going PM you with the menu screen of my game; I think the middle of your song goes fantastic with it the screen (when the flute joins in) though the intro might be too soft.  Probably letting you see what I'm seeing would be best.

Wow, Kenny!  This pack is over the top.  I don't think people realize how dynamic it could be.  I've been thinking for years now that we need something like this so that people can create avatars for characters in RPGs (and it is in vector).  Clean and custom, brilliant.  I made a quick image of me and my girlfriend in an hour just to show how versitile this is.

Silver IV,

Much thanks!  I didn't mean to sound demanding, I was just curious.  I'd hate to see good art go unused, if people weren't using GPL in their games.  Awesome tileset!

Just wondering, why is this set GPL and the 48x48 version public domain?

Fun twist on tower defense!  I wouldn't have guess my assets would have been used on one! :)
