Good ones take a while to make - I haven't even finished Haktoria's semi-celtic style 8x8 font which even has shading. Trying to squeeze all the accents in is hard.
i just bought few weeks ago the Bamboo Wacom Pen & Touch and had some beginning Problems with the Ubuntu 11.10 USB Drivers . after solving this Problems, i started to draw some circles to handle the pen in my hand, then i searched at youtube for some drawing tutorials
I just added another chapter to my blog on gameart using inkscape and gimp. This time it's about having a ton of fun with Inkscape when making a big bang for a nice explosion.
OK, if you're on the IRC much I've probably already bombarded you with this to within an inch of your tolerance. But not everyone is, which means I have more bombarding to do! I have taken up an ongoing personal project: to resprite Xeon (http://opengameart.org/content/xeon-ultimate-smash-friends), a character who I made for Ultimate Smash Friends. I am doing this for a few reasons:
Okay... so I'm working on a spriteset outline in 24x24 px, probably 3 to 5 colors max, with a touch of lefty-righty abstraction for sake of illusionary laziness. I've already got a grid lined out; but I'm struggling with finding good head/body proportions, and it doesn't help a lot that I tend to draw characters/sprites from the head down; since it's mostly important to keep the ground-level contact aligned. Characters will probably be one of 3 distinct heights, maybe 4.
So Ceninan and I agreed the other day that we were going to do some back and forth art practice and critique, so here's something I drew in 30 minutes or so:
The above image is based on this photo by Marcus Ranum. Bearing in mind that it's just a quick sketch, feel free to comment.
Has anyone here experienced with different post processing effects that could be applied to photos or renders to achieve all kinds of non-photorealistic, traditional media like results? Mainly what I'm looking for is ways to do color segmentation and edge detection (there are lots of software that do this but usually the results aren't good enough).
Miscellaneous crude or ancient scraps which are incomplete, rough concepts, abandoned and/or of poor quality and as such don't warrant submission as is.
Posted here on the off chance that someone can extract something of worth from them.
