I have been animating this guy for a couple of hours and I am totally stuck on the legs :( I kind of have them looking like he is walking but it looks jerky and not clean at all (I am going for a "Superbrothers: Swords and Sworcery" look). I uploaded a .gif and a sprite sheet (32x32 frames).
I posted about this in the General area, but I felt it releated to the 2D section as well since all my work is 2D. I posted all new samples to keep things different form the other post. To help get support for my Zombie/Alien game "Stop the Planet! I want to get off", I would like to offer you the Indie Graphics Builder for free (normally $200). This will help me alot to get to my kickstarter Goal.
I just found this page called WeaveSilk, where you can create some cool 2D artwork. Just basically thought I'd share it with you guys, as you might find it useful.
I am trying - mostly to practice pixel art - to make an outdoor sideview tileset, and opened this thread to receive suggestions/criticisms during work from more experienced artists round here. I'll be posting updates as I go on.
The thing I'm mostly concerned of is water - the one I dropped in right now is just a placeholder, and I didn't manage actually to make a better one, though I tried a lot...
Can anyone point me to any tutorial that focuses specifically on 2D top view character creation (Like GTA 1 and 2)? I am capable of getting sufficient results when doing dead things (spaceships, cars, buildings), but when it comes to living things, like humanoids or animals I don't even know where to start.
We are a developer team ServeTech and we are making online (MMORPG) mobile game "Fantasy World: Rebirth". Currently the graphics we have is from an open source game called Rhynn. If anyone`s interested in helping then write here. Here are examples:
The following is a graphic set, currently in a work in progress state, created by Bon Ink Creations for use in the development of video games. The purpose of this thread is to get feedback from the community here in order to create a pack that is both appealing and versatile. The pack is being designed to be instantly compatible with the RMXP engine, and is intended to be released under a CC license. Please look through the pictures below and if necessary download the pack in order to give your opinions on the art.
Intended to be flexible and general enough for use in a variety of simple single-layer, typically black-backgrounded tile-based games, often with with per-tile movement, both top-down and side-view. eg. Rogue-likes, Boulder Dash, Chip's Challenge, Paganitzu, Lode Runner, etc.
