So I told Redshrike I'd try to make a monster for his RPG monster sprites collection, and I decided to go with a dragonkin knight. This here is an extremely rough pixel sketch, just to get some critique on the shape. The colors are just used to deliniate different body parts for "clarity" (haha). I'm looking for some pointers on getting the anatomy and stance right.
The basic idea is to have pixel-art directional and animated sprites (potentially with some 3D parts) that also have a normal-map and work in a full 3D world (3rd person RPG).
Maybe there is some skilled pixel artist here that wants do expand his or her skill set to such pseudo 2D graphics?
This submission http://opengameart.org/content/jinns-icons got me thinking... has anyone else an idea on where to find warcraft-like character portraits? OGA does not really have a lot of those...
I made a tileset following the original game boy color palette restrictions as practice, and was going to toss it up here since I'm not going to use it for anything, but just realized that that might be classified as a derivative work or something and pose an issue.
This might be a silly question, but I haven't been able to find anything about it, so if you have any idea, I'd love to know?
