Came across the site pngkey.com. They claim to host public domain resources only. However, much of what can be found on the site is under copyright & clearly not eligible for public domain. So be careful if you choose to use anything from them.
They are hosting some assets from OGA, claiming they are public domain, which they are not. Fortunately, they seem to be very quick about removing assets when they get a complaint.
I am the newbie in study how to make a game. The main reason actually because I can't find anyone sell the game which have the gameplay as same as I want ( of course. --'). That is why I'm trying to creat my dream game myself. It is the game which combine of 2.5d Turn Base Strategy ( Fire Emblem) and 2.5d Beat Em Up. Because I'm not try to made commercial game, I wonder if the Unity's or Unreal Engine's Asset Store exist any add-on which as same as RPG Maker ( include basic gameplay of Beat Em Up or Turn Based Strategy game.
Some monthes ago, I proposed to host a Game Jam this winter, but after the small participation on the last one (fall 2019), withthelove suggested to make less jams during the year.
I am not sure if I would ultimately hire out for my artwork or create it myself. I am willing to try my hand in it though just to see if I can make tiles in a reasonable amount of time. What did everyone do to learn the trade? Did you just start doing it or watch videos to get the basics down?
What is the best practices on layering tilemaps? Lets say I have a world and there will be tilemaps for water, earth, trees, buildings and maybe even multiple layers in a building because there are multiple floors. Is the best way of accomplishing this feat using multiple tilemaps? I am thinking the water would be the bottom, then the ground layer, then the floor of the buildings, then the tables of the buildings and so on. Or there a better way to do this hierarchy?
See this and reminded me of Sara, got me thinking and wondered if anyone has seen things from other AAA titles, films or whatever and made them think of something here at OGA.:)
I looked, but didn't find an introduction section.
But I thought it rude to just join and then start making requests or what ever.
Curen't i'm working on a game called Devil's Dusk: Rishe of the Demon Slayer.
It's a Castlevania Tribute game.
Came here in search of audio recourses, because out of everything my Indie game has.. music is what it lacks.. since that's one of the things i'm not capable of creating.
This place was suggested to me by several folks.. so here i am.
with January fast approaching and the coppa law taking effect and changes being made to YouTube I wondered how some of us are going to approach it. I know technically this topic isn't strictly art related but a lot of us use YouTube to show gameplay footage of our game projects, and obviously gaming channels and such are in some sort of doubt because of the new changes. I don't want this to be a thread about ranting at COPPA, but how these changes may effect your marketing, showcasing, and anything else you think worth mentioning.
