Hi everyone. When I found the LPC collection here on OpenGameArt I was blown away. It contains everything you may need or want to create an action RPG. For the first time I do not feel art will be my major obstacle while following my dream of creating my own action RPG.
The code I developed uses the base character in the LPC series and draws the different hair, weapons, armor, etc. on the fly during runtime (allowing the player's appearance to update when they obtain new equipment).
Hello OGA! This month continues the Unofficial Pixeland Challenge! We've got a choice of some amazing premium asset packs as a prize, so make sure to take part!
The Challenge
This month, the challenge is simple! Create a game using a maximum of 3 colours displayed at any one time.
Hi OGA! I'd love to tell you about the new monthly challenge I'm co-hosting, based around the Pixeland community!
As a quick summary, the challenge this week is all about creating a set of game assets regarding the Spring season. To show our support for free asset development, the winner will be gifted one of three pre-selected premium asset packs!
First one, i don't know if this is the right place to inform the comunity about my current project, about monsters for DooM-like FPS inspired by Daniel Remar's aliens.
This batch will be HUGE. I'm not saying this to boast or such, what i'm saying is that i foresee to create over 400 classes of monsters for sci-fi and some other for fantasy/medieval, i organized my work for speed, flexibility, quick organization and i think i succeeded to a satisfactory degree.
Specifically, when it was at its peak. I remember visiting that site every day. It had a great community, with tons of amazing artists, many of them pros. The downfall of conceptart.org is one of the greatest tragedies of art sites. I think that one of the reasons that I visit OGA is because it sort of scratches the same itch that conceptart.org used to scratch.
