My name is Tyran Cordine. I'm part of a small team who have been working on a game codenamed Project_M. Project_M was a 2D top down adventure game however after the developers started a course on Unity3D they wanted to move development to the new engine. I liked the idea of making the game 3D however we need someone to help make the models for the game.
I am working on the textures for the game and if need be I can UV map the models.
(I hope this is a proper forum to post this question)
I am very reluctant to ask others for donations. I have a hard enough time receiving payment when it is expected for jobs that I do. But, life as it is, isn't easy. And I've decided that I need to find ways to support myself & my family.
Yeah, as you see in the title, I'm wondering where Sara came from. I know Mandi Paugh created the sprite, but there are some questions:
1. She was imagined solely for this site or was already conceptualized beforehand?
2. Conceptualized/designed by Mandi or Bart?
3. Mandi sprited her for free (as favor) or bart paid her beforehand? (one source on Tumblr says she was commissioned from Mandi, but Bart says Mandi "generously donated" her which implies free)
Just saw this on Kickstarter. (I am not affiliated with the project in any way) The project is already funded, and the creater has a proven track record, so no risk.
I have a Gameduino 2, and it is awesome! You can easily create some cool games on it. I also noticed that some of the assets in his demos are also available from the Open Game Art site. :)
Hello everyone! I am a college senior in Game Art and an aspiring tech artist. I am currently working on my thesis project, and I am having problem deciding on a script, so as a question to all you animators, what kind of scripts would make tasks for you animators easier? It does not have to reinvent the wheel, but has to be something not already in Maya. Any ideas are greatly welcomed. Thank you in advance!
Hi, I have been looking forever for a house sprite for my 2d platformer. I don't have any money to spend on it currently, and none of the free ones work with my game at the moment. Does anyone know of any free, vibrant, good house sprite(s)? Ones that are similar to the one in the picture(homey, not medieval or western) would be amazing. Thanks a million
I'm a pixel artist for gaming and I'm curious how other game developers being dependent on asset stores.I'm currently doing freelancing and want to try enter the asset store market.
I've been wondering that why buy game asset from stores if there are lot of others that are for free?
(i posted this too on reddit. mentioning it now just in case someone did saw the same question before)
Currently I have been taking creative and archetypal writing courses as well as symbology and psychology courses and was wondering if anyone was looking for someone to help with the storyline writing of their game, or if they were looking to collaborate with me in making their work better. hi everyone, I’m going to work on some pixel art characters over the next few months, and redo some of my most popular ones. What I am trying to do is create them in a way where they can be used in some sort of multi purpose way, and I’m not sure what is the best size to start at. Now I know artwork can be resized, but sometimes this can take away the feel on screen. Is it better to downscale then upscale? If a character was created let’s say at 96x96, but wanted to be 64x64 that could be done, losing some definition, but could be easier to tweak then an upscale would be. I think anyway.
Hello guys I want to get better at pixel art where do I start? I mean I am not really good, I made 2-6 projects that I am proud of the others are eh....., Not so good and the more I dig deeper the harder it gets and the more complicated patterns that I see I can copy a dude making a pixel art with only shading so 1/8 of his art is in darker color the others are bright and thus creating the illusion of shade but the more I dig the harder it gets
