Also OGA fixed download "time remaining" this last month so support Bart on making OGA better!

The $2000 funding goal was for bart to work on OGA as a second job thats exactly what he was saying ^.^

Also the site upkeep is only part of the work, you also want to develop new features etc.

The cost of the hosting is only a small portion of the overall cost of keeping something like OGA running. (however the server spec's that OGA requires to run with decent performance would probably suprise you and runs more per month then $50 by a large margin)

If you really think that OGA can be hosted for $50 I challenge you to find someone who will host it for that and point them out to bart.

Also recruting quality site admins, who dont get paid, is much harder then you might think.

donations however dont have any system of checks and balances, you can donate 1000 to someone for feature x but if they dont deliver then what?

For companies or even individuals who need something specific this could potentually be a great thing.

Well the anti-drm clause of the CC liscense is debatibly not an issue in IOS, the .app file that is created is simply a zip file.

There is a text file that could be consiered DRM that is in the same .app but there is no drm on the files inside the .app(.zip) ie the art.

All this said CC says that you cant use CC art on IOS but as the .app has no drm on it other then being a zip, and obviousally a zip isnt drm. Well its conviluted...

Actually thats just because there is animations for the left hand and animations for the right hand

Any other animations can be generated by just flipping horisontal the sprite sheet.

There are 4 liscenses you can use just pick one, I do prefer if you give credit however no matter which one you pick tho.

If its for a closed source commercial game we can work something out just send me a PM.

Also there are other models you may be intrested in at http://opengameart.org/content/3d-characters-a

Also you were asking about how much art to expect, well if you pay a good artist hourly you can expect about 2 months worth of work. A good artist probably could make 1 mobs every other day between animations etc. For the world you can expect a small town every week probably.

So the answer is not much, now you can pay less experienced artists however that will probably harm the qualirt of the art or make it take longer. That or you hire a less experienced concept artist, 3d artist, then a 2d texture artist, then a animator. That may be the most cost effective but for sure the most management work.

That sounds like a resonable idea, trust me dont start with a MMORPG :)
