@Gega I am no expert in this field, but I am interested in making game music, although this is a somewhat distant goal. But I have used MOD / XM / S3M type files in my projects previously, and did stumble upon Milky Tracker. For making such music it is well suited, and I hear the MilkyTracker community is very helpful. I have also used Audacity briefly in the past for simple editing of game sound effects, so it too comes to mind. Not sure if they suit your requirements, give them a Google and see? ;)
Audacity® is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. MilkyTracker is an open source, multi-platform music application for creating .MOD and .XM module files.
I think the proposed unified bestiary project is most certainly a superb idea. Having such assets available would definitely be beneficial to the community. A possibility would be to include sound effects for the animation sequences? (I see sound effects already mentioned...) Maybe include all the assets of a particular monster into a singular compressed file? "Download this monster!" A "Weekly Monster Challenge" perhaps? :P All in all this is sounds like a wonderful idea, and I look forward to watching it evolve! :)
Nice backgrounds davis123! Just out of curiosity, wouldn't a standard resolution of... say 512x512 be more favorable? (I could be wrong) Anyway they are awesome, and I might even use them in a future project, thank you. =)
Thank you manwesulimo2004. You are correct there is a missing shadow on one of them, I will add a shadow to it and upload a corrected version, when I get a chance. You are also correct in the fact that the shadows are clipped, this however is not noticeable when I use it in my game. But as this could be an issue for someone else, I will try correct them in the near future, and upload an improved version. Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated.

Yeah, sure. :)
I archived and uploaded my Code::Blocks project files.
They can be found at "robopaulfiles.weebly.com"
Hope they can be of use.
Awesome flame! Could go nicely on the back of a 2D spaceship... :)
I'm using Code::Blocks to compile Flare on Windows 7. :)
